iPhone 3.0 and Internet Tethering With Airtel
Written on June 18th, 2009 by manojLast night I upgraded my iPhone software to version 3.0. Some of the things I liked are
Spotlight Search
Press the home button on the home screen or slide to the left to activate spotlight search. It is powerful, nice and fast. The results start appearing as you type and include Contacts, iPod, Mail etc.
Internet Tethering With Airtel
This is the most awaited feature for me as it provides internet browsing on the move
To go to Internet Tethering
1. Click on Settings on your iPhone.
2. Go to General -> Network and Internet Tethering
3. Slide your button to Switch it on.
Internet Tethering on Airtel with Bluetooth
First time setup to pair your Mac laptop and your iphone
1. Go to System Preferences of your Mac
2. Select Bluetooth from Hardware
3. From Bluetooth Window, Click on Set Up New Device
4. From Your Bluetooth Setup Assistant Click on continue
5. Select Device Type as Mobile phone
6. After Searching it will show your iPhone in the list, Select it and click on the Continue button
7. it will show you device Gathering information Screen, Click on the continue to proceed
8. It will ask for paring your phone with your Mac, You will also get a paring message on your iPhone, Click on Pair from iPhone
9. Click On continue button after pairing iPhone
10. It will give you following screen, Click on continue
11. A conclusion screen will appear
12. Now Connect your bluetooth by clicking on connect button and start browsing.
Internet Tethering on Airtel with USB interface cable or port
1. Go to System Preferences of your Mac
2. Select Network
3. If Ethernet Adaptor (en2) does not appear in the list, Click on + button to add this
4. Select the interface “Ethernet Adaptor (en2)” from drop down list and enter Server Name “Ethernet Adaptor (en2)”
5. After above step if your status shows Not Connected, Click on Advance… button
6. Following Screen will appear, Click on Renew DHCP Lease button from this screen
7. It will renew your DHCP and now it will show some IP values for IPv$ Adress, Subnet Mask and Router like following
8. Click on OK button, Now you are connected to the internet. Click on Apply to save all changes
